This doctor gives insight into why and how to go about relieving back and neck pain by the gentle application of very well-known and very effective yoga techniques. While there is nothing really new in this excellent book, there are very explicit and helpful directions – complete with cautions at appropriate spots – for those who might want to implement an active method of combating their constant pain.

Advil-Liqui Gels-Ibuprofen probably needs no introduction to almost anyone who has experience in deriving some medicated form of pain relief. Nevertheless, no pain relief blog would be complete without mentioning this basic and nearly primary item, so common among us all, yet so obviously necessary being that common. There is usually a reason something is popular over a period of years, let’s just leave that there. For aches and pains from working outdoors, from spasming backs and muscles or even for general pain relief itself, from head to toe, this nicely-priced package finds itself on more shelves than we can count. Used intelligently, these pills form a great first defense against any and all pain.

This Sunbeam Health at Home King Size Moist/Dry Heating Pad answers the need of every home for an always-useful pain reliever and muscle relaxing appliance, yet this particular item brings size into the mix. Large heating pads are difficult to find in the open market and especially those which have both the “moist” and the “dry” features. The king size (12″ x 24″) heating pad has UltraHeat Technology which maintains consistent heat for greater comfort. An easy-to-use controller is designed specifically for arthritis sufferers with limited use of hand and finger joints. 3 heat settings allow an adjustable rate of heat and duration for the most ideal setting. This unit has a absorbent sponge for penetrating moist, deep heat relief. It is light blue and has a  machine washable cover. The accompanying cord is nice and long, suitable for plugging in anywhere in a room.

Dental Day/Night Mouth Guard

Dental Hygiene Preferred Day/Night Mouth Guard Kit addresses a need not so widely-appreciated by the general public but quite looming indeed to those surprisingly large numbers of people who require it. Where many dentists actually make impressions and form fit expensive mouth guards for patients, the search for a more generic type guard and one hixh is successful (most importantly) seems to have found a niche with this product.

Mouth guards actually serve more than one purpose. While they are extremely excellent for protecting the mouth, teeth and gums from post-surgical situations, excessive grinding and clenching of the teeth can be extremely damaging. There are people whose teeth grind so hard, they can literally break teeth. The dilemma is called “bruxism” and it literally has its own medical description. The item featured here has an excellent record as an over-the-counter solution and can be gradually adjusted to fit better.

Panasonic Real Pro Elite Massage Chair

The Panasonic Real Pro Elite Massage Chair is an item which had to be presented, if for no opther reason than simply to give an idea of what toys and massage furniture is out there. A quick overview, off the top, reveals this chair can use Body Scan technology to deliver a personalized massage. It provides  outstanding deep-tissue relief, which can temporarily relax tense muscles via its four 14-minute and one 5-minute pre-programmed massages, all varying in intensity.

Panasonic massage loungers were the first chairs to be approved by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the largest professional association in the world representing doctors of chiropractic medicine. A total of 33 air bags (or 614 square inches of air massage!) work together, pressing and squeezing tired muscles, relaxing multiple parts of the lower body. As they simultaneously inflate and deflate in varying patterns and speeds, the tension in the seat, hips, thighs, calves, shins and feet miraculously dissipates. The RealPro Elite Massage Lounger has four 14-minute and one 5-minute pre-programmed massages varying in intensity. They include: Shiatsu – Firm style of massage that includes squeezing and finger pressure; Deep – Slow kneading will relax tight muscles; Swedish – A softer massage for a tired body; Stretch – General program that uses a variety of massage movements. Also: Quick – Incorporates most of the massage techniques in a wonderful 5-minute massage.

It seems nearly decadent but I would be remiss by not including such an extravagantly effective pain-relieving machine out of this blog. There are, of course, variations available and some for far less cost. As always, however, I suspect we gt what we pay for, pretty much, like always.
